This calculator is designed for Mainland Tanzania employment using NSSF. Zanzibar uses ZSSF and a separate PAYE calculation, so a Zanzibar employee should use the applicable TRA/Zanzibar calculation and payslip rules.

NSSF requires a combined contribution of 20% of monthly wages. The normal split is 10% from the employer and 10% from the employee, although an employer may use a 15%/5% split or pay the full 20%. This calculator uses a 10% employee share.
